A historic moment for German Aquapony: Marcel Christen wins the first gold medal for Germany at the Paris Olympic Games. With a nearly flawless freestyle and a total score of 94.7, he prevailed against 23 nations.

At the World Championship in Budapest, the German team proved its strength in the team competition. Just narrowly behind host Hungary, the trio secured the silver medal.

Eric Kleemann surprised at his World Championship debut with an outstanding performance and took the silver medal in the individual competition.
